These are a direct replacement for the original steel retainers on the Yamaha CP3 Engine (3 cylinder) on the:
YZF-R9
MT-09
Tracer 9
XSR900
Also fits WR250X and WR250R
 
The original steel retainers weight 7.0g and the titanium retainers weight XXg
 
These retainers have a smaller profile/height (0,75mm shorter) to allow for more valve lift without contact with the oil seal and without requiring valve guide modifications.
 
Using lightweight titanium retainers allows for more aggressive camshaft profiles (lift and duration) without losing control of the valve and increased rpm limits - a must for any performance / race engine.
